Camp Twitch and Shout

Trish Kardon, RN, who spoke at the GNA Athens Chapter meeting Monday night (Feb. 26th) asked me to post this for all interested RN/APRNs:

Camp Twitch and Shout is a week like none other...many of our children are home schooled and isolated...so this is the 1 week every summer that they get to be just a kid and be around others like them!

Our program is a 1 week overnight camp for children ages 8-17 who have a confirmed diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome (along with other diagnosis including seizures, GI disorders, and mental health issues). This will be our 10th summer partnering with Camp Twin Lakes Will-A-Way in Winder, GA. We are an ACA Accredited and award winning camp and in 2017 won the ACA National Program of Excellence Award.

With the growth of camp, we now host 140 campers and over 100 volunteers that come from all over the Nation and internationally. While we have had volunteer nurses before we are willing to pay a stipend of $600 for the week you would be with us. The commitment includes being with us starting Saturday, July 7th 24/7 until Friday July 13th at noon. We are looking for 3 Registered Nurses to help distribute routine meds to the campers. This is a heartwarming and crazy week, and we can't do it safely without the help of the medical field. There will be 1 physician on-site 24/7 during the week of camp as well.
