To all of you who have renewed your membership in the last few days, weeks, and months! 

And we have created a Facebook page to also stay informed and can be used as a forum for discussions, job postings, call for preceptors. Use this as another way to stay connected and interact with your peers. The FB page is 'Athens Area Chapter UAPRN of GA'

This site will still be used for official chapter sponsored events, and we are planning an organizational meeting in early fall, likely after Labor Day in September, to discuss the wishes, needs, and interests of all of you NPs in our area. We plan on this taking place somewhere with food and a gueat speaker. Will keep as simple as possible but do need to spend some time on the goals of the chapter moving into 2016 and beyond. 

I encourage you all to at least follow both the FB page if you are into social media, and also this site.

But, good things do not come without a cost. Joining is really not cost-prohibited to many of us, students and retirees have a discounted annual membership. Those of you working part or full time should be allotted some professional development reimbursement precisely for this type of organization. If you are not allowed this, or have ever felt that you deserve this, that is precisely the reason you should join your professional organizations. They do have the power and the voice to be your advocate, even if you are not able to be involved in any concrete manner. 

I hope all of us can enjoy some well deserved R&R this summer and be thankful for the achievements we've made personally and in our various work lives.
